Each bar: how often it blew between 9:00 and 18:00 in that month, counted over about 3.5 years of weather records for this area. Not a wind meter on the beach: where hills or a gap speed the wind up (Canaries, Tarifa), it often blows more than this shows.

A thermal wind corridor in southern Peru with 18 to 35 knots of reliable breeze over flat bay water, strongest from October to April.
Thermal winds run 18 to 35 knots through the bay, with gusts reaching 35 to 40 knots and sandstorms possible in the windiest periods. The inner bay is mostly flat; further out you find small chop. The conditions suit intermediate riders after slalom, speed or foil sessions. Afternoon gusts can be heavy, and shallow areas near shore call for care at low tide. Fishing boats share the water, so keep a lookout. Launch from the sandy beach, which has plenty of space. A nearby kitesurf spot offers gear storage and accommodation. The water is cool, so bring a wetsuit.

Exposed reef break with consistent waves and clean groundswells from the southwest. Strong cross-shore and side-onshore winds are typical of Paracas. Watch out for rocks in the lineup and shallow sections near the reef. Best suited to intermediate riders.
